You might also enjoy the work of Pak Sheung-chuen...he mixes a sense of humor into his conceptual pieces...i.e. in "Waiting for a Friend (Without an Appointment)" he stood in a specific place waiting for a friend (any friend). When a friend appeared and asked how Pak knew he'd be there, Pak told him, "I really didn't know...but I've been expecting you for a long time." “…making something intrinsically positive” – yes! I like the New York Times guy and what he says about taking time looking at art. I couldn't do it very well but it would be great in a generation where everything is overly dramatic and insanely exciting.
